A Pollstar100 Application may be thought of as a specific view on a particular Sample Data set. In this way Pollstar100 Applications are somewhat similar to cascading style sheets (CSS files). In fact, there is a one-to-many correspondence between Sample Data sets and Pollstar100 Applications. That is to say that for any single Sample Data set, multiple Pollstar100 Applications can be defined to act upon it; but each specific Pollstar100 Application can only operate on a single specified Sample Data set.

Models Of Presentation
The Pollstar100 WCM has been designed to provide three basic models of presentation The following sections explain each model in more detail and provide references to actual example Pollstar100 Applications. These examples also may be used as templates for your own custom Applications:
Best of breed
This is a means of comparing like with like. For example you have a list of products that all perform the same basic purpose. The Pollstar100 WCM can be used to provide the user with a means of voting for the one product they think is the best of breed.
Specific rating
A specific product may be rated for a range of values -say 'poor' to 'great'
Best of breed and specific rating
This model combines both of the above. For example, Each of a set of products is specifically rated using Specific rating. Ratings for each product in the set may then be displayed and compared within a single top level parent list via the Best of breed model.
Be Creative
Developers should not feel constrained by these models of presentation. While this software was written to meet these models' needs, it is also capable of exceeding them.
