Democratise Your Website Now With The Minds Eye Pollstar100 Web Content Manager.

The Minds Eye Pollstar100 Web Content Manager leverages the well-established technologies of Flash and PHP to provide simple-to-use web-content management combined with a user-feedback capture system. Selected web-content is displayed via a fully customisable Flash user interface. Usage statistics are held on the webhost server via a simple file-based PHP service.

This software is aimed at web-developers of all abilities. It is simple enough to be used by a complete newbie yet powerful enough to become part of any professional web-designers' tool-kit. No knowledge of Flash or PHP are required. All a designer will need in order to use this software is a text-editor capable of outputting text files in UTF-8 format. ie: notepad.

Application

In its simplest form, a web-designer can use the Pollstar100 WCM to create a voting mechanism that can be quickly designed, deployed and re-used across any related HTML content.

In addition, the Pollstar100 WCM can also offer a more complete solution. It can be used to present entire sets of related web content such as a list of products or perhaps articles appearing on a web-forum. Typical applications include the following:

·Public opinion polls
·Internal staff surveys
·Product listing and user feedback
·Generic ratings mechanisms

The main subject matter, lets say a list of products such as DVDs for sale, is contained within a CSV text file. Each record in the CSV file represents a specific product and can have additional information associated with it such as a description, thumbnail image, URL, entry date and so on.

Customisation

Almost every aspect of the end-user interface is customisable via a set of Properties that the designer declares within a Custom XML file. The following features are supported:

·Multiple page support for large data sets.
·Sorting of data sets
·Filtering/searching of data sets.
·Counting hits on specific data items.
·Capturing votes on specific data items
·Embedding external resources such as URLs, HTML pages, SWF and JPG files.

Similar to the way that different Cascading Style Sheets (CSS files) can be used to transform a view of the same web-content; so too then, can different Pollstar100 Applications be defined to act upon the same Sample Data set. The benefits of decoupling content from presentation are clear. For example, a website may easily be re-vamped or re-branded without the need to change the underlying content.
